Chapter Twenty Three

Ian exhaled low and slow as he palmed his morning wood. He was floating in that velvety limbo somewhere between dreaming and wakefulness, and he didn’t want to leave yet. It felt too fucking good, as long as he didn’t move any other parts of his body. The group had wound up at his house after they’d left the hospital. He lived closer, and Max and Zandra had been too tired to drive the rest of the way home. He’d fallen asleep only a few hours ago and he felt like pure shit from head to toe, just stiff and sore.

But, damn, his dick felt great. Rubbing one out before his feet even hit the floor was his favorite way to wake up; at least, when there wasn’t a softer, more attractive option lying next to him. He frowned; he hadn’t felt inclined to pursue feminine company lately, not since he’d gotten the call about Esperanza.

Esperanza…

He spread his legs wide and hummed low in his throat as he reached down to cup his balls and stroke his cock. His shaft was long and thick, the sensitive skin velvety soft over a hard-on that felt like steel. His lips parted as he remembered teaching Esperanza how to please him this way, long before she had finally let him slide it between those pillowy, plush lips of hers. Fuck… She had driven him out of his mind back then. He’d been a teenager full of piss and vinegar, jerking off every time he and his dick were alone. Whenever those soft hands of hers had worked him over, he had worried that he’d either come too soon and embarrass himself or pass out from how good it felt. They had been so young and inexperienced, so there had been no way to do it wrong; it all felt good.

Ian shifted his position slightly, wincing as his ribs reminded him of the injuries he had sustained when the plane had gone down. He was lucky to be alive. A near miss like that was enough to make a man take stock of things. What if he hadn’t made it? What would have happened to Esperanza then? Thoughts of her led to memories of a simpler time, when his world had revolved around his perpetual quest to get her alone. There had been so many firsts…and they all belonged to her.
